The Simple But Dreaded Interview Question Answered
A lot of recruiters and employers dread interviewing candidates, especially candidates from institutions of higher learning ( Universities) as they pose a threat to their intelligence, due to their level of participation in topics considered too verse or too deep for such individual sitting or standing before them. The interviewers themselves, are not all equipped with the knowledge to answer the questions they ask some candidates and so, rely on outside sources to keep them abreast of the right answers to some certain questions.
This is ridiculous, especially to recruiters from Human Resources Agencies and other bodies deemed to be well verse in handling such interviews.
One of the questions some interviewers ask are complex and requires one to spend some time analysing it and finding the right answers but, as job interview demands, a candidate don't have the time to assess or gauge their response in a time or period they desire.
The question, ' Why should we Hire you?' is a question that is commonly asked in interviews and one that baffles a candidate when they sit in front of a team of interviewers or a personnel of a company, who has been saddled with the responsibility to interview such candidate. But the right way to answer this question is to ask yourself, 'Why am I here?' and pick up from there. This does not mean you don't have other relevant answers in your head but this is the right way to go about answering the question, as it opens up your memory or brain as to what to expect at the company, such as time of working, your duty or role and that of the personnel in charge of monitoring or giving you roles you at the company, the way to work, which is seen as the company's culture, and other things.
Mind you, most interviewers will kick at this mode of answering a question as they expect you to just go and say, ' I am here to pursue an interests that is favourable to mine and the interests of the company as I intend to pursue whatever brings profits and good standing to the company in front of its customers and stakeholders. ' However, the gauge the right answer to the question, 'Why should I hire you?', ask yourself, ' If I was the only person or candidate sitting in front of this individual, would he or she ask me such a question if not to exploit my weakness? By asking yourself this question, you have opened up yourself to a lot of issues you would face at the company shoud you be working there.
Some candidates are funny and just like to say whatever comes out of their mouth and hopes the the interviewer will understand and say to themselves, smiling at the same time at the interviewer, ' they know I need a job while ask me this question if not to ridicule me.' Some candidates, the ones with a little bit of formal education will answer this question by saying, ' I am here to look for a job that is favourable to my interests and If after pursuing the interest of this company, I decide to feel among the number of employees the company have, I will stay and continue to drive growth.'
If your aim at the company is short,  you could say 'I here to pursue whatever will drive the interests of the company in such a time and uplifts the company's image and let other employees recognize  its strengths and weaknesses, and use these to increase or build the company's relationship with customers and decide to adjust a bit in order to blend in and act.'
We will talk more about 'most dreaded interviews questions' and likely answers in one of my subsequent posts. If you have any comments or questions, drop it.
